36 weeks!

Today I am 36 weeks and officially in my 9th month! We have less than 1 month left (28 days) and our little one is on average 6 lbs (weight of a crenshaw melon) and over 20 inches in length.

I actually had a growth ultrasound yesterday and she estimated his weight to be ~6.8 lbs (plus or minus 1lb). She also did a strep B test (will get results next week) and a cervix check. I am 1 cm dilated and 50% effaced. My weight didn't change in the last two weeks and I am still at a 30lb weight gain (they want you to gain about 35lbs). I also did a check of my belly and it is measuring about 40.5 inches round, 36 inches fecundity height (checked yesterday by doctor).

My visits are now weekly, so my next visit is next thursday where I will be 37 weeks and considered FULL TERM! They still would like baby to be in there the full 40 weeks but more than likely he wouldn't need NICU care if born 37 weeks and later.

This past weekend we finished (more or less) the baby's room. I shouldn't say we... Steve did an amazing job finishing the closet and cleaning up. The closet was a bear to install (not your average home depot kit) but totally worth it. He spent about 2.5 days on it, drilling and sawing to make it look perfect. We ordered canvas bins for the shelves and purchased a couple of items left on our baby registry. For the most part we have everything. We just need receiving blankets, bottles (that can wait) and cloth diapers (waiting till he is born to see how big he really is).

Other news (not baby related) is that my mom got her surgery. She has been waiting for this for 4+ years and she finally got the call to go in over the weekend. They operated on her Memorial day morning. The surgery took 12+hours and shes critical, but stable. I wish I could go down and see her but being in a car for more than 30 mins is really uncomfortable (constant urge to pee, braxton hicks etc). I also do not want to go into labor 4 hours from home, away from my doctors, his pediatrician and my husband. I have been calling my stepdad daily for updates, and praying for a speedy recovery.

Symptoms: Sleeping has been hard. The last couple of nights have been REALLY hot and so I have been pretty uncomfortable. My loving husband went out and got an AC unit for our bedroom. I have been having some pelvic pain and I also wake up with many of my joints sore (mostly in my hands and feet). Many have told me that its this last month is the hardest... and I can see how it will be but it still is worth every sore joint, every waddling step. I can't wait to meet my little one!
